Ron
Hancock
Naturalised
Australian born in South Africa in 1928, Ron is a realist impressionist
painter in oil and watercolour. His work depicts the unique
character associated with a specific area of landscape and
has the gift of bringing forth its charm and individuality.
A versatile painter, Ron often works on site (en plein air)
as well as painting in a studio setting.
Ron studied Fine Art at the University of Cape Town and has
also painted with private tutors and students of the
Italian painter Annigoni (portrait painter
to the Queen). He completed a 6 year lithographic apprenticeship at the Argus
Group of Companies in South Africa.
Ron has had a diverse career as Art Director/Owner of the
well known Manyung Gallery in Mount Eliza. He has painted
theatrical murals in South Africa
and for the Moomba Festival in Melbourne.
He has had many solo exhibitions and is represented in private
and institutional collections both in Australia and overseas.

member of Royal Art Society of NSW, Vice President of Old Watercolour
Society’s
Club 1986-87, Australian Guild of Realist Artists, Victorian Artists Society.
